DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Major Repair Technician - 2nd Shift to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Cummins Inc. facility in Rocky Mount, NC.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Support Manufacturing Needs : Perform skilled activities that directly support the manufacturing business, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
Tool and Equipment Proficiency : Select and use appropriate tools, machinery, and specialty equipment effectively, contributing to high-quality workmanship.
Safety Protocols : Learn and adhere to safety protocols when working with electricity and other energy sources, ensuring a safe working environment.
Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Compliance : Stop work and report any major injury hazards immediately, comply with HSE standards, and use appropriate personal protective equipment to promote a safe workplace.
Quality Assurance : Apply high standards of workmanship, support equipment uptime and downtime failure analysis, and perform quality inspections to maintain product quality.
Preventive Maintenance : Perform and document preventive, emergency, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities, ensuring equipment reliability and minimizing downtime.
Continuous Improvement : Work with peers and support staff to identify and reduce manufacturing constraints, solve problems, and participate in continuous improvement activities.
Team Collaboration : Communicate effectively with your team and support teams, participate in training and personal development, and engage in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives to improve quality, safety, and processes.

Manufacturing Knowledge : Demonstrate a solid understanding of manufacturing processes by correctly implementing changes in current processes, equipment, and applications. This will help meet the function’s needs and contribute to continuous improvement.
Attention to Detail : Pay close attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality in your work. This is essential for maintaining high standards and preventing errors.
Continuous Learning : Stay updated with the latest industry trends, tools, and techniques. Engage in ongoing training and development to continuously improve your skills and knowledge.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.
QUALIFICATIONS
Additional Information:
Major repair technicians are required to troubleshoot and repair engines after they fail end of assembly hot test.
These technicians should have a strong diesel engine mechanic history.
This role will require PIV certification. A candidate can be trained for PIV certification once in the role, as long as they can pass the medical portion of the certification. (Hearing, eyesight)
