Orrick currently has an excellent opportunity for a Training Coordinator.This position could be based in any of our U.S. offices (Austin; Chicago; Boston; Houston; Los Angeles; New York; Menlo Park; Orange County; Portland; Sacramento; San Francisco; Santa Monica; Seattle; Washington DC; or Wheeling, WV) and consideration given for 100% remote US locations. The Training Coordinator will support Professional Talent Development and Information Technology (IT) Training by assisting in designing and developing print and online courseware, communications, and other training materials. They will also help administer the Learning Management System (LMS) and maintain a global training calendar, document business skill methodologies and firm technologies at an intermediate level and act as a liaison between PTD/IT and learners. They will collaborate closely with IT and Human Resources staff in practice offices, as well as Subject Matter Experts in other project teams.

Responsibilities

Review and edit documentation and communications from other teams and rephrase into easily understood instructions. Develop intermediate knowledge of durable business theories and skills (such as communicating with confidence, conflict management or change management) to support the PTD curriculum and programs such as the Professional Mentoring Network, DEI resource groups and coaching. Develop intermediate knowledge of core applications (Microsoft Office, document management, time tracking) and an overview understanding of additional legal environment applications to support the IT Training team's materials and live sessions. Provide secondary remote support to lawyers and staff on learning and development questions. Add and validate LMS data, run reports and suggest action steps based on the results. Create and maintain the global training calendar in the LMS, coordinating facilitators and backups across time zones and ensuring a rotating schedule of classes. Work with local HR, IT and Recruiting to ensure that all new hires have the appropriate training plan. Provide feedback on any areas for program improvements identified during training and support. Ability to adapt to a changing environment and multitask assignments, and to approach problems with a sense of ownership, enthusiasm and innovation. Willingness to learn and grow in a professional environment. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Some travel (up to 10%) in support of training initiatives may be required. If the candidate does not reside in the immediate area of the Global Operations & Innovation Center (GOIC) in Wheeling, WV, candidate may be required to travel to the GOIC 5-10 times per year for projects.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; 1-3 years related business experience preferred Associate or bachelor's degree from recognized college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Experience with virtual collaboration technologies (Teams, Zoom) preferred Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) a plus Familiarity with e-authoring tools (Captivate, Easygenerator) a plus Familiarity with audio/video recording, editing, and production a plus Must work independently with excellent judgment Excellent diplomacy skills required Public speaking or customer relations experience preferred Fluency in any of the firm's European office languages (French,...
