We are currently bidding on a contract providing support to the Picatinny NEC in improving the functionality of the overall delivery of Information Technology Services (ITS) and Administrative Telephone Services (ATS) on Picatinny Arsenal.

This opportunity is contingent upon a successful contract award to Oneida Technical Solutions.

Job Description: Computer Operator IV

Position Title: Computer Operator IV

Location: Picatinny Arsenal

Clearance Level: Secret Clearance (Active)

Compliance Requirement: DOD 8140 Compliance

Position Overview:

The Computer Operator IV will provide advanced technical support in accordance with the Department of Defense Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF) 411 Technical Support role. This position requires an individual who can manage and maintain complex IT systems, ensuring optimal performance and security in a high-stakes environment. The role demands a strong understanding of technical operations, system monitoring, troubleshooting, and the ability to support the IT infrastructure across various platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Monitoring & Maintenance: Monitor system performance and ensure continuous availability of critical IT services. Conduct regular system checks, apply patches, and troubleshoot hardware and software issues.

  • Technical Support: Provide advanced technical support for end-users, resolving complex issues related to hardware, software, and network configurations. Act as a point of escalation for lower-level technicians.

  • System Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of system configurations, operational procedures, and support activities. Ensure compliance with organizational and DOD standards.

  • Security Compliance: Ensure all systems and operations comply with DOD 8140 standards. Implement security measures and monitor systems for potential security breaches.

  • Incident Management: Respond to and manage incidents related to system outages or security threats. Coordinate with other IT teams to ensure timely resolution and recovery.

  • Training & Mentorship: Provide guidance and training to junior staff and other team members on technical support and system management best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 6 years of experience in IT operations, with a focus on technical support, system administration, or a related field.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline is preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered.

  • Certifications: Must meet DOD 8140 compliance requirements. Relevant certifications include FITSP-O or GICSP or CASP+ or CCNP Security or CISA or SSCP

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in system administration, network management, and technical support. Strong knowledge of operating systems, network configurations, and cybersecurity practices.

  • Security Clearance: Active Secret Clearance is required.

  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to document technical processes and communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and develop innovative solutions to ensure system stability and security.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a DOD environment.

  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and practices.

  • Advanced certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or similar.
