Our WIN Waste Innovations facility is seeking a Maintenance Project Engineer. The Maintenance Project Engineer will manage all activities related to the mechanical operations and development of the facility. Responsible for the safe, proper, and efficient operation and maintenance of the facility in accordance with company policies and standards, under the direction of the Plant Manager. Manage and coordinate Maintenance activities to include but not be limited to installing, inspecting, testing, repairing, adjusting, and calibrating all plant equipment and instrumentation. Plan and conduct major outages; implement and direct effective PM program, lubrication plans.

Essential Functions :

  • Activities are typically related to hands on management of duties relating to outages, turbine overhauls, process, or manufacturing operation.

  • Supervises assigned projects and provides oversight

  • Engineering tasks will include preparation of design criteria, diagrams, functional descriptions, calculations, equipment selection, drawings, sketches/layouts and specifications

  • Project engineering tasks will include preparation of cost estimates, schedules, and purchase documents, drawing reviews, review and handling of drawings and submittals, and field work.

  • Will be required to coordinate the work with outside contractors and engineers on the specific projects as assigned as well as in house maintenance.

  • May be required to prepare/revise layouts, operational manuals and procedures.

  • Develop engineering and capital cost estimates.

  • Prepares reports and document project activities and data

  • Confers with Engineering Department to determine project details, such as plan preparation, acceptance testing, and evaluation of field conditions

  • Manages contractors while working on projects.

  • Fully participate in safety programs.

  • Fulfill the commitment to ensure a safe and healthy work environment

  • Fulfill the responsibilities required to achieve a high level of quality

  • Analyze and evaluate current processes and procedures along the entire production process, ensuring there is consistency and adherence with formula, procedures, and equipment to deliver consistent production.

  • Support Engineering and Maintenance Departments in identifying and executing major & minor capital improvement projects.

  • Assists in the preparation of work scopes, requests for proposals and purchase orders for assigned projects.

  • Monitor the project schedules.

  • Obtain permits when required.

  • Maintain the project files for submittals, RFIs, change orders, equipment delivery, etc.

  • Prepares specifications to be used in the negotiation of bids, contracts and rate estimations for new business

  • Completes the corporate and plant training programs within the time frame prescribed

  • Follows standard safety procedures, corrects safety and environmental hazards

  • Reads, understands, and implements lockout/tagout, safety rules, job hazard analyses, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

  • Communicates clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing using intercom system, two-way radio or face to face.

  • Anticipates typical problems, identifies potential or recurring problems, and takes appropriate action

  • Troubleshoots equipment and assists in diagnosing problem areas

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

  • Three years of experience in a incineration plant environment, with a minimum of five years in a supervisory role

  • Maintains all licenses as required by Local, State, Federal, Environmental and/or Health/Safety Regulatory agencies.

  • Operate fire extinguishing equipment ranging from handheld extinguishers to 200 lb portable units

  • Access confined spaces and pressure vessels through standard 12" by 16" manways

PPE Required:

Work in areas under adverse conditions that may require the donning and use of personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, the following with average fatigue:

  • Negative pressure respirator

  • Positive pressure respirator

  • Self-contained breathing apparatus (steel or composite bottle)

  • Hardhat

  • Approved safety shoes

  • Eye protection

  • Rubber suit and gloves

  • Chemical resistant suit

  • Heat resistant outerwear

  • Flame resistant outerwear

  • Approved hearing protection

  • Gloves

  • Safety harness
