1 Job Locations Remote - U.S. Category Human Resources Overview The Payroll Specialist 4 is responsible for timely and accurately paying our employees in accordance with all legal requirements and company policies. What you will be doing Facilitate and lead payroll processing for multiple countries and/or regions to ensure adds, changes, and separations are accurately reflected Provide problem resolution and follow-up to complex payroll inquiries by leaders, employees, terminated employees, and other human resources staff by using significant experience and best practice knowledge; assist other payroll personnel with complex issues Serve as subject matter expert for payroll; guide and provide resolution to other payroll personnel when issues arise with payroll processing Develop and document processes and procedures for payroll processing, payroll tax, and payroll compliance. Utilize knowledge of laws and regulations to ensure compliance with country and locality specific wage and hour laws. Proactively analyze payroll/benefits trends and metrics; present findings and make actionable recommendations in technologies, processes, and plan designs to human resources leadership Maintain current knowledge of related laws and ensure compliance of all programs, policies, and procedures Coordinate processing of complex tax situations such as imputed income, expatriates, and stock options, with applicable internal business areas and outside partners. Forecast market changes and proposed regulation changes to anticipate updates needed to processes, policies, and procedures Operate as a trusted advisor to internal and external stakeholders; develop and maintain strategic working relationships Operate as an innovative thought leader; contribute significantly to the overall growth and quality of the department through knowledge sharing and coaching on current best practices and market trends Develop and administer proper checks and balances to ensure integrity of and accuracy of payroll data and compliance with all government requirements Mentor, coach, train, and provide feedback to other team members; provide feedback to leadership on abilities of team Serve as primary contact for vendors and service providers Comply with all corporate and departmental privacy and data security policies and practices, including but not limited to, Hyland's Information Systems Security Policy What will make you successful Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field Advanced payroll certification preferred (CPP, GPM, etc.) Expertise in using a variety of payroll and HR systems Demonstrated mastery of applying payroll administration fundamentals Demonstrated mastery of applying payroll tax and compliance fundamentals Microsoft Windows and Office proficient Excellent oral and written communications skills that demonstrate a professional demeanor and the ability to interact with executive presence Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills Excellent collaboration skills, applied successfully within team as well as with all levels of employees in other areas Excellent Microsoft Excel skills Excellent facilitation and project management skill Excellent interpersonal skills; able to maintain solid rapport with team members as well as maintain professionalism with those outside of department Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills Self-motivated with the ability to manage projects to completion independently Able to thrive in a fast paced, deadline driven environment Excellent attention to detail Excellent ability to develop and use engaging, informative and compelling
