The Opportunity

This position works out of our Westfield, IN, location in the Structural Heart division.

As the Equipment Technician II, you will be to support the Equipment Department with equipment spares purchasing, and inventory control of equipment spares. The secondary responsibility of this position will be to perform functions associated with all manufacturing operations, including working with equipment set-up, calibration, and maintenance tasks. Works with engineers in conducting experiments as required.

What You’ll Work On

  • Works with vendors to procure necessary quotations to purchase equipment spare parts and tooling.

  • Place purchase requisitions/orders on time related with equipment parts.

  • Ensure an adequate spare control system to avoid any line down situation.

  • Assist in managing the equipment part budget in conjunction with the Equipment Supervisor.

  • Performs equipment setup and corrective, preventive and calibration maintenance as necessary

  • Responds to assembly line issue calls, when necessary, and diagnoses equipment problems, process issues and perform the necessary repairs or modifications and documents the corrective actions taken

  • Documents and reviews equipment qualifications and upgrades made to existing machines, including preventive maintenance performed and parts used, to ensure appropriate documentation of repair history in the maintenance database

  • Installs and validates equipment and processes in the production area to improve yield and /or reduce cycle time following the established validation procedure

  • Provides equipment development engineers with feedback on equipment issues and offers suggestions for improving equipment uptime including modifying existing assembly lines or workstations as required to accommodate manufacturing demands

  • Applies broad knowledge of general technical concepts and practices and a general understanding of product or systems fundamentals.

  • Performs this job in a quality system environment, as failure to adequately perform tasks can result in noncompliance with governmental regulations.

  • Performs set-up, testing, repair, inspection and/or maintenance of all are-specific equipment, materials, systems, and /or product.

  • Makes process and equipment adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed.

  • Assignments require broad judgment in troubleshooting proven processes as well as the ability to suggest alternatives

Shift

Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm

Required Qualifications

  • H.S. diploma or equivalent plus 2+ years of related work experience or equivalent combinations.

  • Applies solid knowledge of business concepts, procedures and practices, and a complete understanding fundamentals in a functional area, and working knowledge of other related disciplines.

  • Will perform this job in a quality system environment.

Preferred:

  • Two-year degree or some college credits preferred.

  • Previous experience in Clean Room environment.

  • Knowledge in Maximo System.

  • Previous experience in medical devices manufacturing process and regulations.

The base pay for this position is $18.25 – $36.45 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
