Job Summary The Sr. Director, Global Thermal Controls and Software will lead the offering and product development of Vertiv's thermal unit controller and systems management software systems and products globally. The leader in this role will be a key part of the Thermal Business Unit senior leadership team to develop and execute the overall Thermal business strategy and drive the thermal control and management software strategy and execution globally. This role will have high visibility globally and be a key interface with the product, services, and regional teams to drive the product strategy, roadmap for control and management software. This position will be based onsite at our Westerville, OH or Minneapolis, MN (Excelsior, MN) location. Responsibilities * Develop and execute the Thermal Control and Software strategy and roadmap. * Develop and managing OPEX and CAPEX budget for department. * Work with product and regional teams to develop 3-year revenue plan. * Quarterly regional interlocks to ensure alignment on priorities, resource needs, product launch and control and software business performance. * Launch of new products in coordination with global and regional product and marketing teams * Develop and manage sales enablement tools in support of thermal controls and software solutions. * Owns the thermal controls and software messaging globally to ensure consistency across regions as well as tailoring to meet specific end market and regional needs. * Ensure timely execution of new product development projects on budget. * Sustaining engineering to ensure quality, reliable supply, and cost-effective production of released products. * Management of the controls catalog, software solution portfolio and product life cycle management of controller and software platforms. * Understanding competition and differentiation of Vertiv Solutions. Developing tools for sales to support selling against competition. * Understanding overall control and software market size, Vertiv share, and opportunities to drive growth for the control and software business. * Collecting inputs from regional teams on market trends, opportunities, and customer needs as a key input into overall roadmap, product requirements and overall strategy. * Manage the research efforts for control and software solutions and identify where the market is going to understand where to focus R&D efforts. * Investigate and recommend new technologies or new market opportunities and serve as product visionary to drive game-changing products, strategy, and direction. * Further the advancement, functionality, and manufacturability of existing products * Ensure Product Development activity is in line with the strategy and direction of the business. * Regularly present the status of products and programs at quarterly team updates and executive business reviews. * Competencies for Success: * Agility: the acumen to handle complex situations and multiple responsibilities simultaneously managing long term projects with the urgency of immediate demands on the operations. * Analytical Rigor: Ability to bring structure to ill-defined problems and intellectual leadership to problem solving; synthesize insights from analysis and ensure credible, actionable recommendations. * Communications Skills: Ability to develop rapport and credibility across the organization, promote ideas persuasively; ability to manage situations including senior leaders and external groups. * Strategic Thinking: Evaluating trends, developing long-term implications, and recommending pragmatic strategies for continuous improvement and new opportunities. * Customer Focus: Work well with sales teams and cApply here: https://www.aplitrak.com/?adid=YmJnZW5lcmljLjE4MjMzLjEwNTA4QHZlcnRpdmNvbXAuYXBsaXRyYWsuY29t
