The Project Executive (PX) is a senior manager responsible for delivering one or more large-scale construction projects. The PX will plan, direct, and coordinate activities for industrial and power projects primarily focused in the Midwestern US. This position requires travel throughout the Midwest and can be based in any of our regional offices. The role involves leading a single mega project or a group of projects in specific market segments, using varied contract delivery methodologies.
Responsibilities
Build and maintain project and company culture through active engagement, open communication, personal connection, and support for all team members and stakeholders.
Initiate and maintain liaison with the prime client to facilitate project delivery.
Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within corporate and client policies.
Outline work plans, assign duties and responsibilities, and delegate authority to project staff.
Coordinate with senior management for recruitment and assignment of project personnel.
Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure work progresses on schedule and within the prescribed budget.
Review project proposals to determine timeframes, funding limitations, project procedures, staffing requirements, and available resources.
Review status reports from project personnel and modify schedules/plans as needed.
Prepare project reports for management, clients, or others.
Provide technical advice and resolve problems with project personnel.
Coordinate project activities with governmental agencies and subcontractors.
Analyze and execute CPM-based project schedules.
Monitor and control construction through administrative direction of on-site Superintendent to ensure the project is built safely, on schedule, and within budget.
Represent the company in owner progress meetings.
Manage the financial aspects of contracts and ensure project profitability.
Lead project meetings and mentor team members.
Assist with career development of other team members.
Participate in strategic planning efforts for assigned markets.
Perform additional assignments as directed by the supervisor.
Essential Skills
Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Engineering or Construction Management
10+ years of experience in construction, contracts, design, finance, and management
Proficiency in project management and construction management
Ability to understand and interpret regulations and company policies/standards
Superior communication and interpersonal skills
Strong business orientation
Ability to apply innovative and effective management techniques
Thorough understanding of corporate and industry best practices
Additional Skills & Qualifications
PE and/or DBIA credentialing is a strong plus
Ability to travel 50% of the time
Experience with various contract delivery methodologies (DBB, EPC, CMGC, IPD, etc.)
Work Environment
This position will involve travel throughout the Midwest and can be based in any of our regional offices. The role includes 50% travel. Benefits include profit sharing, car allowance or negotiable vehicle provision, and housing credit or per diem options.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $175000.00 - $200000.00
