Job Description The Plant Manager - ARP position directs and coordinates the day-to-day activities of the manufacturing plant to achieve both the plant financial and operating objectives set by the overall corporate, divisional, and business unit. The plant manager manages all plant operations with overall responsibilities for safety, production, maintenance, quality and other production-related activities. This position serves as the senior Amcor representative locally and is responsible for compliance with the Amcor code of conduct and ensuring plant compliance with all regulations (Federal and local), as well as other Amcor policies and procedures. Accountabilities and Responsibilities: Promotes a proactive and sustainable environmental, health and safety culture that supports Amcor "zero incident" goal and that exceeds local, state and federal requirements Adheres to Amcor Rigid Packaging Safety and Quality policies and procedures. Responsible for developing, managing and optimizing talent throughout the plant. Manages multi-cultural plant operational employees in the efficient performance of their duties, and the effective operation of the facility. Responsible for directing plant activities to achieve optimum utilization of equipment and maximum efficiency in operations. Responsible for assuring conformance of finished products to the customer specifications, division and industry. Reviews the safety performance and training programs for the facility. Works closely with the plant personnel to ensure a safe and healthy work environment by taking an active role in the plant's safety programs and goals. Recommends and oversees execution of capital improvements for the plant which result directly in improved safety conditions, improved quality of finished product, resulting in added value, improved efficiency, or reduction of plant variable or fixed operating costs. Responsible for engaging employees in a continuous improvement culture. Sponsor and Drive Six Sigma and Lean Projects at the plant for CI and sustain through Visual Management and Daily Management Systems. Responsible for all aspects of financial management of the facility. Controls financial spending of all departments to deliver on budgetary goals. Prepares periodic reports pertaining to plant utilization, labor efficiencies, materials usage, scrap, etc. Works closely with Amcor Commercial contacts and customers to insure coordination of activities and facilitation of customer relationship.
