Director - Brand Strategy and Development POSITION SUMMARY: This high-visibility position will provide thought leadership for G&J Pepsi-Bottlers, Inc.'s Brand strategy across all channels (Retail Small Format and Large Format and On Premise). From development of the annual operating plan, strategy, and execution, this position will work collaboratively with the Commercial, Revenue Cycle Management and Marketing teams to deliver brand growth that outpaces the category and the competition. The Director, Brand Strategy & Development has an excellent understanding of the business, strong analytical mindset, strong people leadership and influencing skills and the ability to lead cross-functionally. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provide strategic leadership and management to the Brand & Commercialization team to optimize category revenue, profitability, and growth for the business. Lead the strategic development of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) for Brand Management and deliver results against plan. Accountable for Brand "health" through the development and execution of plans; delivering results against annual share targets. Establish and perform to ACV (all commodity volume) distribution targets. Develop strong internal and external relationships that lead to best in-class execution of overall brand strategy. Create and deliver communications that clearly display total category performance across organization. Translate information to create compelling business recommendations. Manage relationships with Brand stakeholders, leverage brand funding to develop market based selling and merchandising initiatives, defining Brand Go-to-Market strategies and priorities, and work seamlessly with stakeholders to deliver against AOP plan. In coordination with Category Management, drive strategic decision making around SKU rationalization, proliferation and space planning across the G&J portfolio. Provide in-depth market intelligence regarding the impact of package configurations and pricing with a focus on profitable growth and dollar share capture. Manage Centralize Point of Sale (CPOS) team Partner with Category Management to create relevant insights around market and Brand trends, category challenges and opportunities. Cultivate a strong performance culture and growth mindset that drives meaningful business outcomes. Track and communicate performance of new item Brand launches. Management of Power BI reporting to scorecard progress against key AOP initiatives. Craft strategic KPIs for marketing programs and brand launches, conduct thorough post-analysis and publish learnings to executive team and sales force. ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS: Works assigned schedule, exhibits regular and predictable attendance, and works outside of normal schedule as needed to meet workload demands. Performs other related duties as required. Ensures that company policies, standards and procedures are met, followed and maintained in accordance with established company policy (e.g. OSHA and safety compliance, Federal/State/Local laws). Maintains confidentiality of financial information, customer information and other sensitive and confidential information. Requirements Minimum of 10 years of Brand strategy or relevant experience Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Preferred Qualification/Characteristics Strong financial acumen. Strong analytical skills: the ability to link strategies and objectives to develop a plan. Experience developing multi-year and annual strategies. Experience developing and optimizing pricing & promotion structures. Ability to analyze complex issues and to define the strategic direction for the business. Prior Beverage industry experience, preferred. Power BI experience, preferred. Strong ability to influence multiple stakeholders. Proven leader with the ability to attract, cultivate and retain top performers. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Outstanding PowerPoint and presentation skills.
