Manager - CDL Training Position SummaryThe CDL Training Manager is responsible for developing, maintaining compliance, and overseeing the instruction for CDL license training across the G&J Pepsi markets. This includes classroom courses, road and other practical training, defensive driving, and other applicable training / re-training activities for employees to obtain and maintain their commercial driving license. We are looking for positive and energetic individuals to build and maintain a program that effectively staffs key driver roles and also has the capability to work with leaders across G&J Pepsi. The ideal candidate will have experience building and facilitating training programs. Reasonable Accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Description Establishes and maintains program structure including process and communication flow, timelines and checkpoints, KPIs and dashboard Exhibits strong verbal and written communication skills. Utilizes all systems and tools effectively (e.g., HRIS, Power BI, and other systems as required) Expert knowledge of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration) and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations (e.g., hours of service, pre-trip/post-trip, etc.) and company safety policies and practices. Ensures all policies are followed Expert knowledge of ELDT (Entry Level Driver Training) regulations. Develops training materials and facilitates using adult learning principles Delivers hands-on training that allows for maximum transfer of knowledge while ensuring customer needs, service times, labor and transportation costs are met and within guidelines Provides ongoing and timely feedback to assigned trainer and supervisory staff. Feedback includes positive reinforcement and constructive corrective actions. Understands, exhibits and instills strong customer service skills in which all trainees understand that they represent G&J Pepsi at all times. Works with new driver hires and experienced drivers in classroom and/or field settings to prepare them for a successful professional driver career May supplement Driver Training with local programs specific to the location, products and reports used in that market Trains all drivers (CMV and Non-CMV) on the safe and effective use of vehicles and any other related equipment. Demonstrates the appropriate use of personal protection equipment. Works directly with safety department staff to develop, track, and maintain safe driving practices (i.e., accident investigations, corrective action training, etc.) Provides basic troubleshooting procedures. Monitors the work of newly trained employees and provides retraining as needed. Maintains training records and supports the need for drivers to remain current on their qualification requirements.
