Description

Our client is seeking to hire a Senior Accountant to join their team based in WESTBURY, New York. This role involves carrying out general accounting functions, preparing reports and statistics reflecting earnings, profits, cash balances, and other financial results. This role also assists in providing senior management with reliable and timely information necessary to drive operations.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the closing of financial statements at the end of each month

• Prepare and maintain department budgets and monthly financial analysis reports

• Prepare general ledger month-end journal entries

• Maintain detailed reconciliations of several balance sheet accounts

• Regularly reconcile and analyze General Ledger activity

• Prepare bank reconciliations

• Support financial statement audits

• Support other accounting projects as necessary

• Use Microsoft Excel to manage and analyze financial data

• Apply knowledge of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger procedures in daily tasks.

Requirements • Applicant must hold a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role as a Senior Accountant.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.

• Demonstrable experience in Month End Close operations is essential.

• The candidate must be adept at Budgeting and Financial Planning.

• Familiarity with General Ledger tasks is necessary.

• Experience in Monthly Bank Reconciliation is crucial.

• The ability to conduct Bank Reconciliations is required.

• The candidate must have a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.

• The candidate should be detail-oriented and able to multitask efficiently.

• Strong analytical skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines are necessary.

• Knowledge of accounting software and databases is a plus.

• The applicant must be able to maintain confidentiality and act in the company's best interest.
