Lead Manufacturing Technician

We are looking for a Lead Manufacturing Technician for our Westbury facility. In this role you will perform intricate manufacturing parts using manual and multi-Axis CNC machining operations to fabricate parts and components for a wide variety of systems.

Your Responsibilities:

• Work from blueprints and sketches, with a minimum of information, to develop a sequence of methods for making parts in a production environment.
• Set up and perform precise machining, and CNC machining operations to fabricate production quantities.
• Act as an acting supervisor when needed.
• Investigate and assist supervisor on incorporating RCCA in daily issues in operations.
• Use all machine shop inspection equipment and electrical/electronic instruments to perform routine inspection techniques and procedures.
• Provide direction to lower-level machinists on daily task or an assigned project.
• Lead and support continuous improvement initiative in Operations. (Set up performance, better tooling, and programming)
• Train and develop lower-level Machinist.
• Keep tools and work area in a clean and orderly manner.
• Support on Methodizing and programming CNC Machines.
• Support on update set up sheets.
• Assist production in Equipment T/s.
• Ensure jobs run consistent.
• Adheres to all safety regulations and policies associated with assigned duties and work location.
• Create work instructions to support set up sheets in manufacturing.

Your Profile:

• Associate degree in engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
• Or CNC Certification required.
• 10 - 15 years diversified machining experience.
• Green Belt Certification or SMED preferred.
• Undestand/Demostrate programming habilities ( G code & M code)
• Able to set up machine Multi Axis CNC machines efficiently.
• Able to T/S Multi-Axis CNC Machine (Material, Tooling, Method & Equipment)
• Support on methodize Manufacturing parts / 1st Runs.

Oerlikon is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position, which is $37.00 to $46.00 per hour Some positions within Oerlikon may also offer eligibility to participate in a discretionary incentive program. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for the role will be based on a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, internal equity, job location, work experience, education, training, certifications, licenses, etc. Therefore, as compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each individual, it is likely that not all applicants will be hired at the highest end of the listed compensation range. Our total compensation package goes beyond base compensation and it will include a competitive benefits package starting with 2 weeks paid time off accrued on a monthly basis, 12 holidays, 48 hours personal/sick time (exception for NY where we follow State law, ) medical, dental, vision, 401K, holidays, pet insurance and tuition reimbursement all effective day one of hire.
