Description

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Billing/Coder to join our team in Westbrook, Maine. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for handling medical coding and billing tasks, working with CERNER software systems, and maintaining records in EHR Systems. For this role, you must have your CPC certification. As a Medical Billing Specialist, you will also be required to have proficiency in Microsoft Excel and an understanding of appeals, and claim administration processes.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately process and manage medical coding and billing functions

• Use Microsoft Excel to organize, analyze, and present data

• Manage Accounts Receivable (AR) and ensure timely collection of payments

• Handle appeals and claim administration processes efficiently

• Ensure accurate billing functions and claim administration

• Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with medical coding standards

• Collaborate with the team to streamline collection processes

• Continuously enhance knowledge and skills in medical coding and billing

• Maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.

Requirements

CPC Certification Requirement

• Demonstrated skill in Microsoft Excel.

• Experience in Accounts Receivable (AR) management.

• Ability to handle appeals and billing functions efficiently.

• Proficiency in claim administration and collection processes.

• Experience in coding, particularly medical coding.

• Strong understanding of medical billing and coding procedures.

• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
