This internship requires that all applicants be full-time residents of Maine or attend a college or university in Maine.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE FINANCE DEPARTMENT

The Finance Department at Spurwink serves many functions, including managing accounts receivable and payable, overseeing payroll processes, and conducting budget development and monitoring. In addition, the Finance Department oversees Grant Accounting.

INTERN RESPONSIBILITIES

As the Intern, you will assist the Finance team with the diverse work of their department.

REQUIREMENTS :

• This hybrid internship start date will be the first week of January 2025 and conclude at the end of February.

• We will work around your schedule to meet the required hours of this internship. (8 to 15 hours/per week)

• Ability to commute to the Greater Portland area during the first full week of January.

• Must have an interest in Finance and Accounting.

• Experience with Microsoft 365.

• Create a capstone project sharing educational goals, skills learned, and your experiences.

• Attend a weekly online meeting with a supervisor.

  QUALIFICATIONS :

  Candidates must exhibit enthusiasm for the work and an interest in learning about both the department and Spurwink Services. Must have strong communication skills, the ability to work independently, and critical thinking skills.
