Job Summary The Division Sales Manager oversees multiple locations, leads by example, and sets the tone for the area by actively building market share. The primary focus for this role is to grow the business through directly and indirectly managing the small business and consumer client acquisition and deposit and lending operations of the branch offices and bankers assigned to the Division. The Division Sales Manager proactively engages in outbound business calling with Branch Managers and other members of the branch team. The Division Sales Manager is accountable to develop, coach, and mentor the Branch Managers on prospecting effectively, creating memorable calling efforts to acquire small business and consumer clients and to refer opportunities to other bankers. They will also be active in the ongoing development of their teams to maximize engagement and performance. A successful Division Sales Manager: Leads by example. Accountable for the Division's successful production and profitability. Will grow its low cost deposit percentage while also coaching the delivery of credit and treasury solutions which allow WaFd clients to prosper. Actively participates in client prospecting and outbound calling efforts, including community outreach. Ensures phenomenal, concierge-level customer service to clients within their division. Develops and oversees execution of strategies to expand the small business and consumer client base including visiting clients on site to better understand their banking needs. Understands the industries and economic conditions within the local market. Is an excellent communicator, demonstrating and modeling ability to explain and build engagement whether new programs, processes, or Bank initiatives. Serves as an ambassador for the bank by participating in a variety of public events, community organizations, community outreach, and speaking engagements designed to promote WaFd Bank. Proactively coordinates business development support from various administrative functions. Ensures compliance with company policies and regulations. Participates, encourages, and supports skill advancement in others through coaching, mentoring, responsive feedback, and accountability. Takes responsibility for continuing to seek ways to elevate their own leadership and business development skills. Reflects the corporate values and ethics of WaFd Bank, including integrity, teamwork, ownership, simplicity, discipline, and service. In addition, they must be kind. Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent experience in a financial institution. Ability to demonstrate extensive knowledge of small business and consumer lending. Proven aptitude for coaching direct reports to success and resolving conflict constructively and in accordance with company practices and policies. Exceptional customer service skills and ability to professionally deal with colleagues, clients and the public, both electronically and in person, in a manner commensurate with corporate values and culture.
