Responsibilities Incumbent serves as the assistant to the Head Parachute Team Coach for the USMA Cadet Collegiate Parachute Team. Serves as parachute instructor for Cadets using standardized training materials regulated by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and/or United States Parachute Association (USPA). Provides technical training on the methods and techniques for parachute packing, maintenance, and repair in accordance with governing regulations. Evaluates parachutists' performance, provides feedback, and makes appropriate recommendations to supervisor. Certifies jump readiness, certification(s), and conducts recertification training IAW applicable FAA and USPA regulations. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Three (3) years' experience instructing students in the proper use of equipment, principles, practices, and instruction of parachuting such as how to inspect and don chutes, perform on-ground and emergency in-air chute repair, and the proper assembly of all chute components. AND Must possess current FAA Master Rigger rating, Master Parachute Rigger, Accelerated Free Fall Instructor, and Evaluator certifications. PCS Costs Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest. Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials This is a pay-banded position. Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
