Job Overview: Our company is seeking a full time, dedicated and proactive HR Coordinator to join our team. The HR Coordinator will play a crucial role in managing employee relations, safety, training, and compliance with common HR requirements. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with good communication skills and a willingness to learn on the job.
Ability to work as part of a management team, get along well with staff/employees, treat people with respect, handle confidential information with integrity, and foster continual improvement are all requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Employee Relations:
- Act as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns.
- Facilitate communication between employees and management to ensure a harmonious work environment.
- Address and resolve employee grievances in a timely and fair manner.
- Plays a key role in making sure the employee commissary is meeting needs.
- Helps to arrange employee functions and events with other staff.
Safety:
- Develop, implement, and monitor safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections.
- Organize safety training sessions and maintain records of safety incidents.
- Investigates accidents and manages accident reporting according to policy.
Training and Development:
- Identify training needs and coordinate the development and delivery of training programs.
- Maintain training records and ensure compliance with mandatory training requirements.
- Thoroughly learn the work performed at the factory so you can help make meaningful safety improvements.
HR Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all labor laws and company policies.
- Manage employee documentation, including contracts, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions.
- Assist in the development and updating of employee handbooks and policy manuals.
- Keeps records of benefits plans participation such as insurance and pension plan, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting.
- Coordinates with Corporate personnel regarding benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance.
Recruitment and Onboarding:
- Support recruitment efforts, including job postings, interviews, and candidate selection.
- Coordinate onboarding processes for new hires, ensuring a smooth integration into the company.
- Make sure new hires are adjusting well and feel welcome.
Performance Management:
- Support the performance review process and help managers with employee evaluations.
- Assist in setting performance goals and monitoring employee progress.
Qualifications:

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or satisfactory related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software, and willingness/ability to learn Payroll systems; Internet software and Human Resource systems.
Certificates and Licenses:
First Aid/CPR Certification provided by company.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
