Salt Depot Inc Temporary Full-Time Warehouse Laborers in WEST JORDAN, Utah
Job Description
Salt Depot is a Manufacturing company located in West Jordan and is seeking 10 temporary, full-time positions during our peakload season from October 1st through April 1st. We offer full benefits after a 60 day waiting period. Laborers need to operate bagging machinery production line with robotic palletizer and stretch wrap machine. Laborers will need to restack 50lb bags of salt or gravel on pallets, clean work areas, blend salt products with chemicals and dyes. Laborers with Forklift experience will be trained to assist with moving production pallets and shipping pallet orders out.
Peakload season hours are from 6:00am - 6:00pm, 12 hour shifts Monday through Friday.
Regular Wage $18.03 and Overtime Wage $27.05. Average 20 hours of overtime per week is a must and the possibility of working some weekends.
Workers will be paid overtime for any hours worked over 40 hours per week and will be paid on a bi-weekly basis.
Employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due. Workers will be paid Bi-weekly.
Workers must have reliable transportation and responsible for getting to and from the West Jordan Warehouse location.
On-the-job training will be provided to the worker.
Workers must provide own transportation and lodging.
Employer offers no assistance in finding or securing lodging and transportation.
The employer will make all deductions from the workers' paycheck that is required by law.
Employer will provide all necessary tools and equipment to safely perform all job functions.
Qualifications
-Able to safely lift 50lbs
-Repetitive heavy lifting, bending and standing for long periods of time
-Pre-employment drug screen required
TERMS & CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Workers will be paid no less than $18.03/hr. Overtime hours will be paid at $27.05 for hours worked over 40 hours per week.
Workers are responsible for daily transportation to and from the company business location in West Jordan, Utah. No experience. No education required.
Employer will make all deductions required by law from each paycheck. Employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due. Workers will be paid Bi-weekly. Any raises and/or bonuses will be at the employer's discretion. Returning workers and workers with more experience may be paid higher wage rates. Opportunity for higher pay will depend upon experience.
H-2B workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (excluding passport fees).
Transportation and subsistence (including meals and, to the extent necessary, lodging) from the place of recruitment to the place of employment will be reimbursed, if the worker completes 50% of the work contract period. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker's voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distance involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $15.88 per day during travel to a maximum of $59 per day with receipts.
The emp loyer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period. The offered wage equals or exceeds the highest of the prevailing wage that was issued by DOL. This job is in connection with a future H-2B Foreign Labor Certification Application.
Employer ill provide, without charge or deposit, all tools, supplies and equipment required to perform the job duties.
