Duties & Responsibilities:

The candidate will process, package, calibrate/measure, and analyze precision optical components while maintaining detailed records on multiple platforms. Incumbents will be required to perform responsibilities such as generating undefined ad-hoc reports, working on complex or multiple subassemblies, and providing technical or administrative support without defined guidelines. The candidate must be familiar with physical inventory control and ERP systems such as Oracle and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).

Major Responsibilities:

  • Production Quality Control Execution. Perform detailed final inspection and recordkeeping of product, ensuring conformity to customer specification documentation.

  • Independently makes suggestions for process changes, testing methodologies, or quality and business process improvements that deviate from standard practice on a regular basis.

  • Incumbent makes solid contributions to improve the performance of their functional area and normally serves as a trainer for lower-level technicians.

  • Closely follow documented work instructions.

  • Identify and thoroughly document nonconformities.

  • Successfully work as part of a dynamic team. At times, the candidate will be required to work independently with minimal to no direct supervision.

  • Calibration, use, and troubleshooting of specialized equipment. This level typically requires more advanced knowledge of systems or specialized equipment and knowledge of multiple product lines.

  • Maximizes productivity by setting objectives, prioritizing, organizing, and managing interruptions while communicating effectively (verbal and written).

  • Utilize current and future databases used for production.

  • Cleaning, inspecting, and organizing optical components

  • Comply with all company and department-specific safety regulations

Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:

Required:

  • Minimum education- A.A.S degree in Engineering or Applied science or equivalent experience.

  • 3-5 yrs. experience working in a cleanroom manufacturing environment.

  • Fluent in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel.

  • Ability to follow detailed procedures once trained.

  • Ability to generate and update procedures for production processes.

  • Attention to detail and ability to concentrate on tasks for extended periods.

  • Able and willing to work in a clean room environment.

Desirable:

  • Precision assembly experience, optical component fabrication experience, or Micro-optic replication experience.

  • 2 yr. degree with a concentration in optics.

  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel.

  • Experience with Oracle ERP systems.
