Helen Hayes Foundation Executive Director in West Haverstraw, New York

The Executive Director has primary responsibility for all aspects of the organization, including staff oversight of the organization, budget and cash flow issues, fundraising, community partnerships and networking, communications and advocacy, and day-to-day operations while working with the board of directors of The Helen Hayes Hospital Foundation, staff and hospital administration to achieve the mission and financial objectives.

Ideal Candidate must possess these skills: Act as face of the foundation. Lead the strategic direction of the organization using a collaborative process with the staff and board of directors. Oversee the implementation of the goals of the Foundation. Assure that the mission and goals of the Foundation are consistently presented with a strong positive image. Supervise and implement all fundraising activities and strategies. Organizational development. Oversee and develop all fundraising, along with supervising the website consultant for all updates. Additionally, update Facebook and Instagram accounts to drive potential donors. Local and global marketing and networking to increase public awareness of the organization. Identify and create marketing and advertising opportunities and materials, both digital and print. Board development and ensuring that the board is kept up to date on all issues. Implement all board policies and procedures including preparation of paperwork for annual audits. Supervision and evaluation of staff and consultants. Responsible for recruitment and/or aid in hiring and training of staff as needed. Management of all HR Policies and Procedures. Liaison to hospital administration and departmental requests. Direct contact with possible donors and existing donors. Maintain existing relations with donors and develop them into bigger donors. Staff all board and committee meetings, keep minutes, and send out all appropriate communications. Work with hospital Graphics to develop all invitations, Save the Date cards, Holiday Card. Develop mailing lists for each occasion. Record and acknowledge all donations in donor database. Send out thank you notes. Other responsibilities that may be needed not already listed in this description.

Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree preferred. Willing to accept Professional Experience in Non Profit Management in lieu of education. Experienced manager with strong non-profit leadership background. Minimum 3-5 years' experience in non-profit fundraising and donor development. Prior experience in staff supervision, team building and performance evaluation. Strong written and oral communication skills with public speaking experience. Ability to interface and engage diverse volunteer and donor groups. Knowledge of business planning and financials, and non-profit accounting concepts. Knowledge of fundraising strategies and donor relations unique to the nonprofit sector.

Position is 30 hours per week with 2 weeks' vacation and 11 state/federal holidays.

Salary is $55,000 per year.
