What to Expect as an MDS Coordinator at Saint Mary Home

Under the direction of the Director of Nursing or Designee, the MDS Coordinator will lead and coordinate the development and completion of comprehensive resident assessments in accordance with state regulations, OBRA guidelines, and the goals of our facility. You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate case mix and payment determinations (PPDM) through meticulous attention to detail and adherence to established procedures.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must possess a Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university or be a graduate of an approved RN program.

  • Must hold a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in this state.

  • Extensive knowledge of nursing and medical practices, as well as relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines for long-term care. Familiarity with OBRA and case mix systems is crucial.

  • Must possess and maintain current CPR Certification. AANAC Certification is required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire.

  • Prior experience with MDS is mandatory, with a strong emphasis on OBRA assessments and PPDM/case mix management.
