What you will do:
Maintains proficiency with all cardiovascular ultrasound equipment and procedures performed at the IHC.
Performs echocardiographic and vascular exams according to established protocol.
Instructs and educates patient regarding the ordered test and prepares the patient for the procedure.
Appropriately documents in EHR and billing system
Positions patients as necessary to complete echocardiographic or vascular exams
Injects ultrasound contrast media when necessary
Monitors patients status during testing
Qualifications:
Successful completion of an accredited two year Ultrasonography or Radiologic Technologist program or must meet the educational requirements of the ARDMS/CCI for ultrasound training. (ie: 2-year Allied Health degree or Bachelor’s degree)
Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) from American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) orRegistered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) within 12 months of hire
Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) from American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) orRegistered Vascular Specialist (RVS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) within 12 months of hire
Maintains active registry status with ARDMS or CCI
Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population served within three (3) months of hire.
Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider certified or obtained by the end of the orientation period (approximately six (6) weeks).
Valid Iowa Driver’s/Chauffeurs License required, must meet Mercy’s Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, must be at least 18 years of age and be eligible to drive per Iowa state law.
