Job Description:

Job Title: Event Setup Specialist

Department: The Ron Pearson Center

FLSA: Non-Exempt

General Function

The Banquet and Event Set Up personnel must ensure that all banquet and meeting rooms are properly set in a timely manner, so that the banquet service staff may prepare for functions. Responsible for timely and safe breakdown of meeting rooms after event completion.

Accountable and Reports to: Operations Manager

Positions that Report to you: None

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain and refresh event space inside The Ron Pearson Center according to sales contract and company standards.

  • Sets tables and chairs, buffet lines, HD displays, etc.

  • Stages pipe and drape.

  • Ensures the cleanliness and organization of events is done in a timely manner.

  • Assists supervisors during large functions.

  • Ensures meeting and event spaces are set in a timely manner.

  • Ensures meeting and event spaces are broken down in a timely manner.

  • Refresh rooms as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

High School or equivalent; Zero to six months of banquet center experience

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to physically perform medium work: exerting more than 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds of force frequently, up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

  • Visual requirements include vision from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet with or without correction, depth, perception, color vision and field of vision.

  • Must be able to fit and walk in confined spaces.

  • Must be able to climb, balance, kneel, reach, stand, walk, pull, lift, grasp, feel, talk, hear and perform repetitive movement.

  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.

Working Conditions

The duties of Banquet and Event setup are conducted in a conference center setting. This environment is fast paced and labor intensive and requires significant contact and communication with management, coworkers, customers, and outside vendors. Great attention to customer service is the forefront of this environment.

All required equipment for server, janitorial, and AV duties

Contacts

Has frequent contact with general public and customers. Has contact with Federal/State government or regulatory agencies involving inspections.
