J ob Summary

The Certified Sterile Processing Tech II is an advanced level position responsible for collection, decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments, supplies, and other equipment needed for patient care. Collaborates with leaders and other members of the health care team to ensure optimal patient care is provided. Performs required tests to monitor the efficacy of sterilizing process and equipment. Maintains accurate daily sterilization records and biological monitoring records. Takes an active role in quality control/assurance and process improvement, maintains work areas clean and organized. May act as a team lead and provide staff training/ orientation, works with team educator and able to speak to the job performed, and be patient care ready at all times.

Job Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement :

High School Graduate or equivalent preferred. Graduate of CS/SPD training course preferred. Attends one annual HSPA local seminar.

Minimum Experience Requirement :

Minimum 3 years Hospital Central Sterile Supply Technician experience is required. Excellent customer service skills required.

Minimum License Requirement :

Required HSPA-Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (CRCST) or CBSPD- Certified Board Sterile Processing Distribution (CSPDT) is required.

Pay Range:

$23.15 - $34.73
