GE Aerospace Technology Trends Manager in West Chester, Ohio

Job Description Summary

The Technology Trends Manager will lead GE Aerospace’s Technology Trends process to ensure GE Aerospace leadership is inventing the future of flight. This leader will be responsible for coordinating the analysis and disposition of disruptive and opportunistic technology and ventures, elevating the existing process to a continuous flow across all Commercial Engines & Services, in coordination with other business units and enterprise processes. This leader will champion any recommended actions through approval reviews.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities :

  • Lead execution of weekly and monthly intelligence assessments for disruption and opportunity, coordinating evaluations across Commercial Engines & Services, Engineering, Research, and Defense & Systems teams; assessments include broad technologies (i.e. artificial intelligence, autonomous flight, fuel cells) and individual external companies.

  • Develop landscape assessments on the options and recommend business action through existing review processes (i.e. Adjacent Technology deal review, Corporate Development review, Capital Allocation review).

  • Improve quality and ease of access of strategic information, leveraging appropriate digital tools and driving collaboration between cross-functional groups, including but not limited to Marketing, Sales, CommOps, Product Lines, Legal, Engineering, Finance, Enterprise Strategy.

  • Share information succinctly to leadership via regular memos and presentations.

Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college and 5+ years of experience in Engineering, Product Management, Corporate Development, or Business Operations.

Desired Characteristics :

  • Ability to synthesize complex, technical ideas in succinct, layman’s terms.

  • Passion for whitespace learning, emerging technologies, and new business models … excitement for the art of the possible in shifting landscapes.

  • Ability to structure whitespace into actionable recommendations

  • Established project management skills.

  • Customer-focused mindset, ideally with direct airline or airframer exposure.

  • Familiarity with existing GE Aerospace Sustainability efforts and Future of Flight demonstrators.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with capability to flex style from working team meetings to senior leadership discussions.

  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and influencing skills across all levels of the organization, with the ability to align diverse stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with Engineering and GE Aerospace Research teams

  • Solid financial acumen to deliver growth on strategic priorities, preferably with experience developing business cases.
