Barnes Group Inc Production Engineering Supervisor - West Chester Internal Candidates ONLY in West Chester, Ohio

Description Preferred Candidate Identified Core Responsibilities: Lead and supervise the OEM production engineering team Supervisory tasks including daily team performance oversight, hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, and personal development of direct reports with primarily technical duties Be an engaged leader to direct reports to ensure open communication, and sustain a stable support team Perform individual contributor engineering tasks (ex. fixture/gage/process design & troubleshooting, material disposition) Oversee performance metrics, and apply countermeasures as needed (ex. non-conformance disposition back-log) Participate in strategy development, deployment and execution Must interface with all internal organizational groups, vendors, and customers. Maintain strong communication with customers, internal management team, & vendors to ensure quality, schedule & financial goals are met Create, deploy, execute, and improve business processes compliant to requirements (self & direct reports) Support new product introduction efforts to integrate new items into production Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Minimum 5 years individual engineering support in a manufacturing environment Minimum 5 years technical team or project management Excellent written and verbal communication Capable of challenging and critical conversations with teams and individuals Experience navigating a complex organization to ensure the success of projects with evolving needs Project management experience with a proven track record of scheduling and organizing people effectively to complete assigned functions Proficient at reading, analyzing, and interpreting customer drawings, specifications, procedures, and standards Proficient with computer systems and basic software, experience with CAD (Solid Works, NX, AutoCAD, or similar) Ideal candidates also possess: Machining, press/forming, welding, brazing, heat-treat, and inspection experience Die, tool, fixture, and gage design experience Minimum 5 years in aerospace industry Experience optimizing high mix / low volume production Continuous Improvement, Lean and Six Sigma experience Education Requirements: BS Degree in a technical field (engineering, manufacturing/industrial technology) Ideal candidate has additional education/training in engineering, manufacturing, business administration and project management Requisition Notices: Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
