The position is responsible for configuring, modifying, testing, and maintaining Epic and other revenue cycle applications. This role involves building collaborative relationships with hospital leadership, clinical department users, and other corporate departments to facilitate system usage and acceptance. The analyst handles complex build and configuration tasks, resolves advanced issues, and provides support to ensure reliable application system availability and performance. Additionally, the analyst designs, verifies, documents, and refactors software configurations, investigates and resolves application issues, develops and executes test plans, evaluates design options, ensures incidents are handled according to procedures.
Job Description:
This position requires the completion of an EPIC Assessment for your application to be considered. You will receive an email from the recruiter shortly after submitting your application with more information.
This job can be performed out of any of the following campus locations: West Burlington, Fort Madison or Mt. Pleasant. Position will be onsite during implementation of EPIC, with possible hybrid options in the future.
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
- Epic certification in at least one module or the ability to obtain certification within six months of hire
PREFERRED:
Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Related Field
1-3 years Experience in clinical, operational, or financial workflows relevant to the supported module.
1-3 years Experience in healthcare IT or clinical operations.
What you will do
Analyze and optimize clinical workflows by ensuring that Epic EHR features align with the healthcare organization’s clinical processes. This includes working closely with clinicians to improve efficiency and reduce any pain points.
Work closely with physicians, nurses, IT staff, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and feedback on Epic’s functionality. Collaborating helps to align the system’s use with clinical and organizational goals.
Configure and customize the Epic system to meet the needs of clinical workflows. This involves setting up templates, order sets, and other features specific to the organization’s requirements.
Monitor system performance, manage upgrades, and ensure that the Epic system is regularly maintained and updated with the latest versions. This includes patching and troubleshooting any technical issues that arise.
Provide technical support and troubleshoot issues that arise in the Epic EHR system. This could involve working with IT teams to resolve system downtime or user errors.
Ensure the Epic system complies with healthcare regulations, such as HIPAA, by enforcing security protocols and monitoring data privacy. This includes overseeing user access control and audit logging.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, staying up-to-date with the latest Epic features and healthcare technology trends. Recommend and implement best practices for Epic usage to enhance overall system efficiency.
Test new features, updates, and system changes to ensure they function as expected. This involves conducting unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure clinical needs are met.
Provide training to clinical staff and users on how to effectively use Epic. This includes creating training materials, conducting training sessions, and providing ongoing user support to troubleshoot any issues.
Ensure that Epic data is accurate and accessible for clinical decision-making and regulatory reporting. Develop and maintain reports to track clinical outcomes, performance metrics, and patient care quality.

Resolute Professional Billing: Manage professional billing workflows within Resolute, ensuring accurate charge capture, claim submission, and compliance with insurance requirements for healthcare providers. Resolute Professional Billing Claims and Remittance: Oversee claims submission and remittance processes for professional billing in Resolute, ensuring that claims are processed efficiently and payments are accurately tracked. Comfort Hospice - Billing and Claims: Manage the billing and claims process for home care and hospice services within Dorothy, ensuring accurate documentation and timely reimbursement for patient care services.
