Description

We are in search of a Staff Accountant to join our team in the manufacturing sector, based in West Allis, Wisconsin. The role involves providing support to the finance department, administering biweekly payroll, preparing financial reports, and serving as a backup for accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.

Responsibilities:

• Administering payroll on a biweekly basis

• Assisting the Controller in various finance department operations

• Preparing and maintaining financial reports and materials for annual audits

• Serving as a backup for accounts payable and accounts receivable functions when necessary

• Completing business unit reports as required

• Conducting general accounts analysis and reconciliations, including bank reconciliations, fixed assets, employer’s benefit costs, accruals, prepaid expenses and cash analysis

• Preparing and filing all required external reporting to National Industries for the Blind and the General Services Administration

• Assisting with the month-end close process, including analyzing account activity, recording accruals, and creating financial reports

• Coordinating inventory cycle count process within NetSuite Smart Count and investigating inventory variances

• Working with Business Unit leaders to perform financial review of quotes and bill of materials/routing for finished goods production parts

• Handling all internal sales reporting and all sales and use tax reporting

• Maintaining and reporting on all Wisconsin Rehabilitation Tax Credit customer contracts

• Preparing annual Accounts Payable Form 1099 reporting

• Performing deposits on checks received through desk scanner

Requirements

Education/experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, CPA is a plus.

  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting.

  • Minimum of 1 year of cost accounting experience regarding manufacturing inventory.

  • Knowledge and experience with ERP and hosted payroll processing systems (NetSuite and Paycom a plus).

  • Familiarity with multiple payment methods (check, ACH, wire transfer, etc.)
