The Department of Human Services, Wernersville State Hospital is looking for a dedicated and experienced Maintenance Repairman 2 to perform various skilled and semi-skilled tasks in repair and maintenance of machinery, buildings, and equipment.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Maintenance Repairman 2, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and functionality of our buildings and structures by performing tasks in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and masonry work. You will perform this skilled work at the journeyman level exercising technical independence in determining work methods and procedures. The primary duties of the position will consist of being responsible for the security of keys, key assignments, and meticulous record keeping. You will also be responsible for the Lock Shop work orders and daily lock related calls, as well as all lock related items. Additionally, you will ensure the safety of the outdoor grounds by clearing snow and ice from sidewalks using snow removal equipment.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. This position is subject to emergency call-ins. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1; or Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.
