Seeking a highly motivated and self-directed Regulatory & Licensing Consultant with 5 + years of experience to join our Regulatory and Natural Resources practice. Primary responsibilities include regulatory and natural resources support for a variety of hydro projects in the Pacific NW and Alaska, from project inception through regulatory approvals to construction ECM services and operational compliance. Additionally, the selected applicant must be effective and experienced at supporting business development initiatives by assisting in expanding client base through client relationships as well as the identification and pursuit of new opportunities for licensing. It is essential that the person in this position can work with a variety of personalities and develop positive, long-lasting relationships with existing and potential clients. Responsibilities Assist clients with project management, strategy development, stakeholder outreach and consultation processes, technical workgroup support, management of technical consultants, license and permit application management, negotiated settlement efforts, and meeting facilitation. Prepare and manage well-written regulatory documents that adhere to the requisite state and federal requirements. Demonstrate the ability to synthesize a wide variety of scientific, technical, and policy information and develop clear, well organized written information for broad audiences. Work effectively both as part of a team and independently, and have good problem-solving skills. Successfully balance multiple tasks and projects in a deadline-driven work environment. Exhibit excellent verbal communication and writing skills. Holds themselves and others accountable to meet commitments. Builds partnerships and works collaboratively to meet shared objectives. Makes good and timely decisions that keep the organization moving forward. Ability to work independently from an office perspective and communicate effectively with team members via phone, email, remote meeting platforms, etc. Is capable of overcoming adversity and has a demonstrated ability to consistently achieve results, even under difficult circumstances. Qualifications A minimum of 5 years of experience in hydropower related consulting or industry positions with federal (FERC), tribal, and state regulatory processes, familiarity with natural resources (aquatics or terrestrial) related work is preferred. Bachelor's degree in related technical discipline of Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, Hydrology, Public/Environmental Policy or other Natural Science is required, Masters' degree is preferred.
