Job Summary

Position is hybrid for candidates within a commutable distance (2 days in office/3 days remote)

Ability to handle a pending of Automobile Casualty losses which includes minor to high severity Bodily Injury, uninsured and underinsured motorists claims. Responsible for screening losses and determining coverage exposures. Requires the ability to investigate, evaluate, and negotiate all aspects of automobile claims, including all facets of the litigation process and the appropriate directions to outside vendors consisting of independent adjusters retained experts and attorneys. Generally works independently with duties and activities supervised only on a general basis.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Education: Associates Degree or Technical or specialized knowledge or equivalent, related experience.

Experience: 4 - 6 years or High School equivalent plus 5 - 7 years.

Knowledge: Considerable knowledge of the general and technical parts of the job. Works independently.

Decision Making: Makes decisions within position standards. Applies guidelines and procedures that require some interpretation in dealing with exceptions. Work requires judgment to select among multiple potential pre-defined courses of action.

Supervision Received: Works under general supervision. Typically does not receive instructions on routine work. Receives general instructions on new types of work or projects.

Leadership: Demonstrates leadership in group, team or project. May provide guidance and training to less experienced staff.

Problem Solving /Operations/Direct Work Involvement: Applies knowledge to help solve complex problems requiring independent thinking with direction.

Client Contacts: Contacts other departments and or external organizations or parties frequently. Contacts involve obtaining or providing information on matters which may be sensitive and or complex to interpret.

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Prior claims adjusting experience in Bodily Injury required.

Knowledge of medical terminology and liability is desired.

Insurance Industry education is strongly preferred.

Ability to function in a team environment.

Strong oral, written communication skills and a good command of the English language.

Understand and comply with all customer service standards.

Knowledge of basic computer systems.

Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality is a must.
