Overview of the role: The leader in this role will be a key member of Hartford Funds’ Senior Leadership team and will be responsible for all external and internal sales teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the firm’s distribution strategies across multiple channels (wirehouse, independents, wealth management, RIA and DCIO) to drive net positive sales and profitable growth

  • Aggressively leverage data and analytics to drive business results

  • Heavily involved in product development and launch

  • Build extensive external relationships across current and future client firms

  • Partner with subadvisors to provide comprehensive investment support for the sales process

  • Partner closely with the marketing and product organizations to implement firm-wide and channel specific sales plans

  • Educate and inform sales staff on the economics of the business

  • Stay current on capital markets and industry trends

  • Motivate and maintain the highest standards of organizational discipline and professionalism with regards to sales and service delivery

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent on-the-job experience)

  • Minimum of fifteen years of financial services industry experience

  • Prior experience leading sales teams or a sales organization

  • Demonstrated abilities in coaching a sales organization and accomplishment of goals with a mutual fund firm

  • Outstanding energy, focus, and drive to achieve results

  • Proven results and demonstrated sustainable achievement in a financial sales environment

  • Capacity to build and manage relationships across entire organization and with our partner firms

  • Sets high standards for self and others and excellent interpersonal skills

  • A confident public speaker

  • Resourcefulness and superior problem-solving skills

  • In-depth product knowledge and investment acumen

  • Solid performance management skills

  • Possess a keen awareness of the industry as a whole: the competition, market dynamics, industry trends, customer needs and compliance

  • Manage expense budgets across multiple divisions

  • Series 24 required (must obtain within 90 days)

  • Series 3 required (or obtained within a reasonable timeframe)

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$250,000 - $350,000
