The City of Wayne DPW Laborer II (On-Call) Fulltime w/benefits in Wayne, Michigan
Starting pay rate: $20.208 (mandatory on-call & overtime as needed) Mon.-Fri. 7:00a.m.-3:30p.m.
Job description and Qualifications:
- Essential Functions:

``` 1. Occasionally read water meters for billing purposes. Answer service calls, and install, test, repair, remove, and/or exchange water meters. 2. Operates a truck with available attachments to haul materials, rubbish, or snow. 3. Operates smaller tractors with/without attachments for lawn mowing/snow removal maintenance. 4. Repairs water mains and sewers. Make water and sewer taps. Clean sewers and catch basins. 5. Repair and maintain fire hydrants. 6. Paint traffic markings on curbs and streets. 7. Repair and maintain roads. 8. Perform cement finishing work which includes sidewalks, manholes, catch basins and lay or repair curbs. 9. Perform snow removal of roads/sidewalks. 10. Trim and remove trees. Perform stump grinding.
- General Job Duties:

``` 1. Operates heavy equipment in emergency situations. 2. Complete necessary daily reports 3. Assist City buildings with light building maintenance. 4. Performs other related work as assigned.

``` 1. Job Qualifications:

``` 1. High School diploma or GED. 2. Must possess and maintain a valid State of Michigan operator's license. The city will assist a new hire to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) during his/her probationary period.
