Job Description Summary

As an Engineering Leader for AI & Digital, you will play a critical role in leading the global technology team involved in developing AI and digital portfolio for the entire spectrum of GIPC product lines. You will work closely with the Digital Product management team in developing Digital roadmap that is well aligned with GIPC strategic product priorities and in developing technology and operational strategies to execute on the digital roadmap.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Serve as an accountable and global leader in digital technology space with key focus on AI, data analytics, and digital enterprise applications.

  • Work closely with the digital product management team to develop an organization-wide digital and AI strategy around the areas of focus, prioritization, combination of organic and partnership-based solutions development.

  • Working closely with the Architects and Principal engineers, develop a robust technology strategy for the development of AI and Digital enterprise applications.

  • Create a quality-focused, innovative and vibrant development culture within the global GIPC digital community.

  • In partnership with product management team, develop and maintain robust roadmap of digital and AI portfolio items.

  • Create and maintain active repository of digital solutions backlog, groom and feed them into SAFE agile scrum teams.

  • Lead a team of data scientists, ML engineers and Software developers accountable for development, deployment and maintenance of AI and Digital applications and infrastructure.

  • In consultation with multiple stakeholders, guide the business’s best practices, including data quality, good machine learning practices, and monitoring the effectiveness of AI models throughout their life cycle.

  • Establish mechanisms and frameworks to facilitate close collaboration with GEHC Science and Technology Organization and with the Clinical Partners to effectively leverage their technology and clinical expertise.

  • Establish mechanisms and frameworks to engage with external design partners to develop, integrate and deploy 3rd party solutions into GIPC product platforms.

  • Actively collaborate with Ultrasound-wide AI & Digital Mission based teams to develop common processes and practices around data collection, storage, curation, model development and model regulatory clearance.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field

  • Having 10+ years of experience in leading and executing development of medical device software and application deployment.

  • Having 5+ years of experience in leading the development AI & Digital applications in the medical imaging field.

  • Having experience of AI development processes and experience with the challenges associated with data curation, model development and tuning.

  • Working knowledge of hurdles associated with AI regulatory clearance.

  • Demonstrated experienced working with clinicians and medical device users to achieve customer intimacy.

  • Understanding of software application design and architectures

  • Good understanding of Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and project management principles.

  • Having solid grounding on global product development processes like PRD, QMS, SDLC and global regulatory processes.

  • Adept at leading complex technical projects, able to align technical strategy with company’s goals.

General Responsibilities

  • Leading and mentoring a team of data scientist, ML and software engineers, providing guidance and support to promote professional growth and high performance.

  • Defining and refining engineering processes to ensure efficient and effective development life cycles.

  • Ensuring the delivery of high-quality software through rigorous testing, code reviews, and adherence to best practices

  • Collaborating with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to align the digital projects with company objectives and customer needs.

  • Conducting performance reviews, setting objectives, and facilitating career development plans for team members.

  • Managing the recruitment, onboarding, and continuous training of engineering talent to build and maintain a skilled team.

  • Communicating progress, risks, and outcomes to senior management and other relevant stakeholders.

  • Resolving conflicts and removing obstacles that impede the engineering team's progress.

  • Staying abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive innovation within the team.

  • Facilitating a collaborative and inclusive team culture that values diversity and fosters a sense of belonging and respect.
