Job purpose

The Quality Control Technician is responsible for monitoring of production activities to assure the products and processes are meeting established limits, performing chemical and physical testing of products and packaging material.

Essential Functions:

  • Adhere to company safety policies and procedures

  • Conduct GMP and Sanitation audits

  • Collect product samples, set-up and perform quality checks are assigned.

  • Interface with production personnel to make necessary adjustments and corrections on the line.

  • Verify the HACCP guidelines, GMP's, SOP and quality procedures are being followed by all team members

  • Assisting other departments as needed and performing related duties as assigned.

  • Adhere to and enforce all Good Manufacturing Practices, food safety and SQF requirements, as well as safety policies and procedures.

  • Perform food safety inspections including preoperational, operational, sanitation and facility GMP inspections.

  • Assist with company programs and initiatives as needed, such as calibration program and customer complaint investigations.

  • Provide support as needed during audits.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of high school diploma or GED

  • Must be 18 yrs. or older.

  • Must have at least 1 year of food manufacturing environment experience in a high speed environment.

  • Bi-lingual is desirable

  • Knowledge of manufacturing specifications and quality standards.

  • Familiarity with HACCP, GMPs, Allergens and Personal Protective Equipment.

  • Beginner to Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office desired (Word, Excel and Access).

  • Ability to determine root cause and diligently apply corrective action.

  • Ability to read and write English; Bilingual is desirable

  • Basic math skills.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with employees, verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to identify problems or irregularities for early resolution.

  • Proactive mind-set and flexibility are important as well as the ability to multi-task and prioritize work under pressure.

  • Detail oriented, accurate, and organized.

Working conditions

Fast paced manufacturing environment that may include weekend work and overtime, exposure to various temperatures, working on concrete floors and noise levels exceeding 85 dbls.

Physical requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time,

  • Vision adequate to perform tasks.

  • Perform repetitive tasks.

  • Bend, Stoop, kneel, and climb a ladder and stairs.

  • Reach, lift, stack and maneuver objects of varying dimensions and weight up to 50 lbs

  • Potential allergens exposure to: Peanuts, Tree Nuts, Wheat, Soy, Milk, Sesame, and Eggs.

  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment corresponding to task (i.e. hearing protection, face shield, safety glasses, aprons, gloves, etc. )

  • Ability to work in a normal food manufacturing atmosphere and the situations that it may impose (noise, temperatures, etc.)

Pay Details: $18.00 to $20.00 per hour
