Clausen Construction headquartered at 45852 169th St Watertown, South Dakota 57201 phone number: 605-233-0169, is looking to fill 12 Construction Laborer positions from 04/01/2025 to 10/31/2025. This is for full time, peak load temporary employment. Duties include: As construction laborers, the workers will perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites. Operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments. The workers will be operating heavy equipment such as motor scrapers, soil compactors, bulldozers, backhoes, skid loaders, and shovels. The worker will unload materials, lay out lumber, tin sheets and siding, trusses, and other components for building structures. The workers will build and erect walls and trusses, lift tin sheets and siding to roof and walls, install doors, and caulk structures. The workers will clean and prepare sites, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, and clean up rubble, debris, and other waste materials. The workers will also lubricate, clean, or repair machinery, equipment, or tools. Must pass pre-employment drug test, paid for by Employer. Must be able to lift and carry 75 lbs. Must follow safety guidelines in manufacturing environment. Must have one (1) month of related experience.
The pay rate is $18.90 per hour with overtime available at $28.35 per hour, based on hourly rate. 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday 7:30 AM to 6:30 PM. Job opportunity is a temporary, full-time position. Daily travel to worksites in the area of intended employment is required. The requested temporary workers will be based at 412 20th Ave NW, Watertown, SD 57201 Watertown, SD 57201 and will service clients within the East South Dakota nonmetropolitan area, including the counties of Codington County, Brookings County, Clark County, Day County, Deuel County, Grant County, Hamlin County, Kingsbury County, Marshall County, and Roberts County. Employer provides transportation to and from all worksites.
Single workweek will be used in computing wages due. Pay period is Bi-Weekly. Employer will make all deductions from worker's paycheck required by law. Employer arranged housing is available at a Weekly payroll deduction of $50 dollars. The offered housing is optional to workers. Transportation, including meals and, to the extent necessary, lodging, to the place of employment will be provided, or its cost to workers reimbursed by a company check, separate from the payroll check, if the worker completes half of the employment period. If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, employer will arrange and pay directly for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back to home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economically and reasonable common carrier for the distance involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $15.88 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts. Reimbursement in the first work week for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government, incurred by the H-2B worker (but not included passport expenses or other charges primarily for the benefit of the worker). The employer will provide worker, at no charge, all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job and on the job training in the proper use of tools and equipment. The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-four hs of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period only to the extent that this guarantee is enforced by the Department of Labor. As of the date of this posting, the three-fourths guarantee is not enforced, but this is subject to change.
