Position Purpose:

Performs a variety of cardiovascular, pulmonary, and neurodiagnostic tests. Prepares test results for physician interpretation. Adheres to MercyOne's performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values of MercyOne.

What you will Do:

Performs cardiovascular, pulmonary, and neurodiagnostic tests.

Places accumulated charges into computer system.

Based on principles of growth and development, provides care appropriate to the age related needs of the patients served on his/her assigned unit, which may include:

Birth-28 days: Neonate

1-18 Months: Infant

18 Mo-3 Yrs: Toddler

3-6 Yrs: Pre-School Aged

6-12 Yrs: School-Aged

12-18 Yrs: Adolescents

18-65 Yrs: Adults

65+ Yrs: Geriatrics

Adheres to all safety, infection control and colleague health policies and procedures.

Hours/Schedule:

1.0 FTE; 80 hours per bi-weekly pay period; every 5th weekend; rotating holiday schedule, NO call.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate’s Degree: Respiratory Therapy. Current Iowa License upon hire.

Graduation from a related allied health program or hold a certified/registered credential in a related field. If licensed in related field, license must be maintained, or certification/registration in a cardiovascular, pulmonary, or neurodiagnostic field.

Mandatory Reporter. BLS ACLS Minimum of 1 year experience performing cardiovascular, pulmonary, neurodiagnostic and/or respiratory tests preferred. Intermediate language, intermediate math, intermediate reasoning ability. Personal computer, database software. Ability to work with diverse groups of people Ability to work under pressure and with a large degree of independence.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

Blood Bourne pathogen hazard to eye, hand, torso and respiratory; electric shock hazard to head and hand; respiratory hazard of gas, vapor, fumes, particulates and chemical. Physical demands of the job include infrequent lifting, pushing and pulling over 100 lbs, moderate standing, walking, twisting and bending, extensive deviation of wrist and frequent pinching, hand/wrist repetition and fine motor skills. Must possess the ability to comply with Trinity Health policies and procedures.
