Hardscape Technician - 10fulltime, temporary, seasonal (H-2B) jobs available 4/1/2025 - 11/30/2025.

Employer: Skyview Landscape, Inc., 450 Hudson River Road, Waterford, NY 12188.

Duties: Lay out, cut, and place segmental paving units and stone or segmental block retaining walls. Prepare base for installation by removing unstable or unsuitable materials, compacting and grading the soil, draining or stabilizing weak or saturated soils and taking measures to prevent water penetration and migration of bedding sand. Supply and place base materials, edge restraints, bedding sand and jointing sand. Set pavers, aligning and spacing them correctly. Sweep sand into the joints and compact pavement until the joints are full. Cut paving stones to size and for edges, using a splitter and a masonry saw. Compact bedding sand and pavers to finish the paved area. Sweep sand from the surface prior to opening to traffic. Read landscape design prints, review prints with the team leader, and implement the landscape construction plan. Operates, proficiently, a variety of mechanical equipment, including skid loaders, mini excavators, dingos, plate compactors, stone grinders, drills, gas and electric chop saws, chain saws, demolition hammers, and jack hammers. Involves bending, stooping, lifting and stretching on a frequent basis. Must be able to lift 50 lbs regularly and work in all weather conditions

Work on Friday, or the weekend, may be required, if necessary. Hours may fluctuate due to weather. Overtime hours and schedule may vary.

Employer to provide transportation to and from worksites in Albany, Schenectady, Rensselaer and Saratoga counties from designated pickup location: 450 Hudson River Road, Waterford, NY 12188.

No education required, 3 months experience required.

Work Days: Mon-Thu, 7:45am-6:15pm, 40 hours/week. $21.08/hour, OT varies at $31.62/hour Bonuses/raises may be paid at employer discretion based on performance, skill, and tenure.

A single workweek will be used to compute wages due. Workers will be paid weekly on Friday. All deductions from the worker's paycheck required by law will be made.

Employer will assist workers with securing housing, but employer will not provide housing. Optional third party housing arrangements will be paid directly to the third party landlord, currently expected to be $120/week.

Employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job.

H-2B workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (excluding passport fees).

Transportation (including meals and, to the extent necessary, lodging) to the place of employment will be provided, or its cost to workers reimbursed, if the worker completes half the employment period. Return transportation will be provided if the worker completes the employment period or is dismissed early by the employer. Daily subsistence rates are $15.88/day without receipts or up to $59/day with receipts.
