Overview

The Vermont Department of Corrections is seeking a visionary financial leader who is seated on the department\'s Executive Leadership Team. This candidate will play a critical role in informing decision making, resource planning, and crafting strategic direction while ensuring the fiscal stability of the department. A successful candidate will have a track record of collaboration, complex budget development and monitoring, cost analysis, risk management, and a leadership style that is dynamic and innovative.

As of July 14, 2024 the step 1 rate for pay grade 31 will be \$45.40 per hour.

Environmental Factors

Work is performed primarily in a standard office setting but some travel will require private means of transportation. Duties may require extensive time outside of normal work hours. Incumbent will be expected to attend public meetings and hearings and to testify before the Legislature. A wide diversity of opinion and emotions can be anticipated for which diplomacy and tact will be required.
