Naval Facilities Engineering Command PROPERTY SPECIALIST in Washington Navy Yard, District Of Columbia

Summary You will serve as a Property Specialist in the Business Directorate, Command Services Department, and Management Services, an Echelon IV command of NAVAL FAC ENGINEERING CMD WASH. Responsibilities You will rovide daily support to members of the Command Services directorate, using various methods of management in order to ensure efficient and effective support to the Command. You will serve as the Command’s Property Specialist for all NAVFAC Washington and nine off-site Public Works Departments in the National Capital Region. You will review and provides guidance to Contracting Officers regarding the management and stewardship of Government property, Government furnished equipment, and contractor required property. You will perform on-site inspections of inventory processes and work methods employed. You will Travel to various inventory sites and ensure acceptable work methods for compliance with the policies and procedures. You will report missing, lost, or stolen items to the Security office and chain of command. You will advise the Commanding Officer of compliance, or noncompliance, with approved procedures, audits, and inventories and identifies other significant problem areas. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector 1) Analyzing issues and formulating recommendations for improving organizational efficiency or effectiveness; 2) Performing of a wide variety of technical functions to include accounting for Government Furnished Equipment (GFE), Real Property, acquisitions, dispositions, and depreciation, recommending changes and writing the updates to local property instructions; 3) Identifying problems and recommending solutions that will influence management decisions regarding the internal operations; and 4) Using computer and data systems assistance on assigned projects.
