Library Systems & Services Web Designer and Outreach Specialist (WSO) in Washington, District Of Columbia

LAC Federal is seeking an energetic and innovative Web Designer and Outreach Specialist (WSO) to design, maintain, and optimize the digital presence for a prominent division within a major intergovernmental organization. As a key member of the Digital Discovery and Access Team, the successful candidate will play a critical role in shaping the digital and outreach presence across the division, ensuring seamless access to content, data, and services. This full-time position offers a hybrid schedule, with both on-site and remote work required.

Responsibilities:

  • Website Management: Design, develop, and update multiple websites, including internal and external sites, ensuring information is current, consistent, accessible, and aligned with strategic goals.

  • Collaboration: Work with divisional stakeholders to create visually appealing and user-friendly web pages that reflect the division’s branding and objectives.

  • Analytics and Reporting: Assemble, evaluate, and report site analytics using tools like Adobe Analytics or Google Analytics to ensure web services meet user needs.

  • Digital Outreach: Manage and update the digital presence on various communication platforms, including internal and external websites, organizational newsletters, and e-mails, ensuring consistency with branding and effective communication.

  • Content Creation: Assist in the creation of digital outreach materials, including posters, infographics, and training videos, to support promotional and client engagement activities.

  • Support and Assistance: Participate in the Web Development Team, respond to web services support requests, and provide comprehensive web-related assistance.

  • Project Coordination: Collaborate with IT staff and vendors on development projects and enhancements to the website.

  • Discovery and Access: Support access to and discovery of online content and market data services, working with other team members to achieve strategic objectives.

  • Other Duties: Perform additional duties as needed to meet the goals of the division.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in web design, graphic design, or a related field, with a minimum of three years of professional experience in web design and development.

  • Technical Skills: Solid experience in designing web pages using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with knowledge of web accessibility standards and user-centered design principles.

  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to write effectively for the web.

  • Teamwork: Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Adaptability: Willingness to learn new tools and technologies, with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Content Management Systems: Experience with SharePoint, Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), or other CMS platforms.

  • Design Tools: Proficiency in design tools such as Photoshop, Canva, InDesign, or Illustrator.

  • Library Systems: Familiarity with library integrated systems, such as Alma and Primo, is a plus.

  • Data Skills: Experience with data analysis and visualization.

  • Flexibility: Ability to adapt to evolving priorities and designs in a dynamic environment.
