Customs and Border Protection Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist in Washington, District Of Columbia

Summary Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Intelligence, Resource Management Division, Logistics and Administration Branch, located in Washington D.C. Responsibilities This position starts at a salary of $139,395.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $181,216.00 (GS-14, Step 10) with promotion potential to $$181,216.00 (GS-14 Step 10). As the Branch Chief of logistics and IT planning and readiness, the incumbent directs policy, plans, organizes, coordinates, controls, and evaluates the activities of the OI Resource Management Division's Logistics and Administration Branch. Major duties include but are not limited to: Planning and coordinating logistics, information technology (IT) and support activities to integrate logistics support to address all aspects of supportability throughout the operational life cycle of all systems for achieving OI's nationwide border security objectives, and projecting and meeting operational requirements. Making major recommendations that have a direct and substantial impact on OI and the projects managed, including significant internal and external program and policy issues affecting the overall organization including the particular changes to be effected; the optimum mix of reduced operating costs and assurance of program effectiveness, including introduction of automated processes, and improvements. Managing the development, assignment, and higher-level clearance of goals and objectives of the Logistics and Administration Branch and OI. Approves multi-year work plans developed by subordinate organizational units and subsequently manages the overall work to enhance achievement of the goals and objectives. Ensuring the entire process and systems of logistics and IT management is maintained and developed in accordance with CBP policies, regulations, and guidance as well as the goals of OI at an economical cost. This includes but is not limited to storage, distribution, warehousing, movement of goods from one place to another (internally or externally), tracking, and delivery of goods. Qualifications Experience: You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Providing management and oversight to assure the timely execution of new or changing logistical concepts. Providing leadership and guidance to employees who perform various logistical and administrative functions. Ensuring adequate resources are available and coordinates fielding of new equipment and training.
