We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Mid-Level Staff Accountant to manage a range of accounting functions, including financial reporting, reconciliation, and analysis. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, superior analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. A degree in Accounting, Finance, or related subject is required. Preferred qualifications include proficiency in Accounting ERP software, intermediate Excel skills, and progress towards a CPA certification. Candidates must be local to the Washington D.C. area.

salary: $65,000 - $75,000 per year

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.

• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations.

• Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.

• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoice processing and payment tracking.

• Conduct variance analysis to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.

• Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.

• Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation.

• Support senior accountants and management with special projects and financial analysis as needed.
