About the Role:

As the Sr. Director, Marketing Operations at Confluent, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our global marketing organization's effectiveness and efficiency. You will be at the helm of refining our marketing technology infrastructure, streamlining processes, and fostering strategic collaboration across Sales, Customer Success, Partners, Finance, and Product teams.

Managing a robust team of over 25 professionals, you'll oversee every aspect of our marketing technology stack, data strategy, reporting, strategic planning, and budgeting. Your leadership will ensure our marketing operations are agile, scalable, and data-driven, ready to adapt to the rapidly evolving market. Reporting directly to the CMO, this role is crucial for driving our marketing discipline to new heights.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead the strategic planning process, setting long-term goals and crafting an actionable roadmap aligned with the company's vision

  • Drive operational excellence in marketing processes, ensuring scalability, efficiency, and alignment with growth ambitions

  • Mentor and lead a team of marketing operations professionals, nurturing a culture of high performance and data-centricity

  • Own and continually optimize the marketing technology stack for seamless execution of campaigns and programs

  • Develop strategies leveraging automation, AI, and analytics to enhance lead management, campaign tracking, and customer engagement

  • Establish robust analytics and data strategies for improved decision-making, targeting, and segmentation

  • Collaborate with Finance and Sales to create predictive models and strategies for pipeline forecasting and progression analysis

  • Manage cross-functional marketing initiatives from concept to execution, applying project management best practices to ensure success

What You Will Bring:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA) preferred

  • At least 10 years of experience in marketing operations, with a significant focus on leadership roles within the technology sector

  • Expertise in marketing automation tools (e.g., Marketo), CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), and analytics platforms (e.g., Tableau)

  • Proven experience in scaling marketing operations in a SaaS or technology-driven environment

  • Deep understanding of data strategy, analytics, and the application of data in strategic decision-making

  • Exceptional skill in cross-functional collaboration, leading through influence

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a knack for data-driven marketing strategies including campaign attribution and pipeline management

  • A record of successful program and project management, demonstrating the ability to meet deadlines and quality standards

At Confluent, we are committed to providing competitive pay and benefits that are in line with industry standards. We analyze and carefully consider several factors when determining compensation, including work history, education, professional experience, and location. This position has an annual estimated salary of $217,500 - $261,000, an annual bonus, and a competitive equity package.
