Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Senior Accountant in Washington, District of Columbia. In this role, you'll manage a range of accounting tasks, including accounting transaction processing, general ledger maintenance, and financial reporting. You'll be part of a collaborative team, with a focus on ensuring smooth financial operations.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the accuracy of the general ledger and perform regular account reconciliations.

• Process daily accounting transactions, focusing on both accounts payable and receivable.

• Assist in the preparation of journal entries and financial reports as necessary.

• Contribute to month-end and year-end closing processes.

• Support the tracking and reporting of non-profit funding and grants.

• Collaborate with external financial staff and leadership to maintain smooth financial operations.

• Aid in the execution of financial audits and regulatory filings.

• Utilize your skills in Yardi software and Microsoft Excel to perform your duties efficiently. Requirements • Possess strong skills in Account Reconciliation

• Proficiency in Balance Sheet Reconciliation

• Demonstrated experience with Bank Reconciliations

• Expertise in managing General Ledger

• Ability to accurately prepare Journal Entries

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is a must

• Experience with Month End Close procedures

• Familiarity with Yardi software is required
