Salary: $65,000 - $72,000

Job Summary

Join our team at Restaurant Associates as a Sous Chef and seize the chance to grow professionally and express your creativity. Located at the prestigious World Bank in D.C., this position offers an outstanding opportunity for culinary experts to shine in a dynamic and sophisticated environment. We are looking for an ambitious and highly skilled culinary professional to ensure flawless dining experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Executive Chef in managing cost controls and strictly controlling expenditures for the account.

• Plan and build menus in collaboration with the Executive Chef to ensure a world-class dining experience.

• Produce and complete high-volume catering events with proven efficiency.

• Supervise over 20 hourly associates, encouraging an inclusive and collaborative kitchen environment.

• Successfully implement new culinary programs in conjunction with the company's marketing and culinary teams.

  Preferred Qualifications:

• An A.S. degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent experience.

• Significant progressive culinary and kitchen management experience, especially in corporate dining.

• Proven track record in high-volume, complex foodservice operations.

• Experience with unionized kitchen environments is highly desirable.

• Institutional and batch cooking experience is helpful.

• Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, email, and the internet.

• Must be willing to participate in client happiness programs and activities.

• ServSafe certification is highly desirable.
