CareFirst Senior Sponsorship Strategist (Hybrid) in Washington, District Of Columbia

Resp & Qualifications

PURPOSE:

Supports sponsorships and key transformation initiatives. Works cross-functionally with divisions internally and external partners to plan and execute each event and sponsorship successfully; also supports media relations and social team to generate coverage for key events, product launches and campaigns.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Establishes sponsorship market presence by developing strategic marketing and sales plans; publicizing sponsored events. Identifies potential sponsors by researching and collecting competitive intelligence; exploring leads; evaluating opportunities.

  • Leads sponsorship and event management process and serves as the point person with sponsors and event vendors to coordinate details of sponsorship including billing, promotion, and other logistics.

  • Manages corporate and sponsor events by developing program design; organizing event suppliers; coordinating production team; staffing.

  • Designs implements, and manages sponsorship plans and event strategy focused on growing CareFirst brand awareness and favorability

  • Maintains accurate and updated records of all contacts and assets. Assess each corporate sponsorship or event effectiveness and report regularly on key metrics.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education Level: Bachelor's degree in marketing, Hospitality, Sports Marketing, Business or related field OR in lieu of a bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.

Experience: 5 years' experience in corporate sponsorship.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Demonstrated success in planning, project management/coordination and meeting deadlines.

  • Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.

  • Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

  • Strong negotiation and closing skills.

  • Strong event planning skillset, both pre and post event.

  • Must be able to meet established deadlines and handle multiple customer service demands from internal and external customers, within set expectations for service excellence. Must be able to effectively communicate and provide positive customer service to every internal and external customer, including customers who may be demanding or otherwise challenging.

Salary Range: $73,656 - $146,289

This compensation range is specific and considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilites of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, internal peer equity, and market and business consideration. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range, as compensation decisions depend on each case's facts and circumstances, including but not limited to experience, internal equity, and location.
