Senior Congressional Analyst

Duties:

  • Analyzing legislative texts for National Guard equities
  • Coordinating the development of legislative proposals on behalf of the National Guard
  • Preparing read ahead materials for National Guard principals to meet with Members of Congress
  • Coordinating Congressional Required Reports from Congressional legislative text to delivered final reports
  • Summarizing Congressional hearings with National Guard equities in written formats and as part of weekly meetings with key stakeholders
  • Preparing briefing materials for National Guard principals to give Congressional testimony
  • Develop relationships within the National Guard Bureau and outside the National Guard Bureau to advance the Chief of the National Guard Bureau's priorities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience with analyzing legislation and federal budgets
  • Clear concise writing skills
  • Proficient utilizing Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with National Guard (Arm/Air) (desired)
  • 5 years of experience working with the NGB or equivalent to other Service Headquarters or DoD level
