BAE Systems Requirements Analyst in Washington, District Of Columbia

Job Description

Requirements/Business Analyst is responsible for analyzing business needs, gathering and documenting requirements, and ensuring solutions align with organizational goals. This role acts as a liaison between stakeholders, development teams, and other functional areas to ensure effective communication and delivery of solutions that meet business objectives.

  • Translate business needs into clear, concise, and testable functional and non-functional requirements.

  • Gathers requirements information from users, develops specifications, defines and/or coordinates testing requirements conforming to established standards & quality control procedures.

  • Participates as needed in development phases with emphasis on the analysis/design, documentation, integration, and presentation phases.

  • Utilizes writing skills in the documentation and development of Use Cases, user stories, and interface storyboarding.

  • Creates wireframes or mock-ups of the product to be developed for evaluation and demonstration. This wireframe is a high-level model of the product and assists in the user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) study of the product s design

  • Facilitates meetings between domain experts and developers to produce accurate requirements.

  • Conforms to standards & quality control procedures for design and GUI development and implementation.

  • Works closely with developers to ensure proper implementation and testing of program and system specifications.

  • Provides technical guidance to lower level staff.

  • Define and execute test cases to validate that solutions meet requirements.

  • Participate in User Acceptance testing and ensure feedback is incorporated into final solution.

  • Create and maintain detailed documentation, including requirements specifications, user stories, and process diagrams.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

Required education: Bachelor Degree

  • At least 5 years of experience in the design and development of applications.

  • At least five years of experience in gathering, analyzing, documenting and/or defining and coordinating testing requirements.

  • At least five years of experience in documenting and developing Use Cases or user stories and user interface storyboarding using the Iterative, Spiral, or Agile methodology.

  • At least five years of experience in the system development life cycle, DBMS concepts and/or design techniques.

  • At least five years of experience in formulating work plans and drafting specifications for programmers.

  • Experience developing analysis models using Unified Modeling Language (UML) or other related data modeling standards.

  • Experience with 508 graphical user interface design.

  • Experience with Object Oriented Analysis Design (OOAD) techniques or experience using OO tools, if required.

  • Experience with requirements tracking tools (e.g. SharePoint, Redmine, VersionOne, JIRA).

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficiency with analysis tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Visio)

  • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or other project management methodologies.

  • Solid experience in writing SQL queries

  • Ability to create detailed documentation and process flows.

  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC)

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $66084 - $112343

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
